Oysters on the Half Shell

It cannot be denied that fresh oysters are the best things on the planet. That's what I found out on Sunday. Despite LOVING clams and mussels, my first experience with the oyster at our local wine bar made me a little squeamish. They looked and tasted like fat slugs.
So Paul and I decided to take the ultimate Oyster test to decide once and for all if they were all they are cracked up to be. A trip to the Marshall Store in Point Reyes.
What a beautiful day. Sunny, mid 60's.
And the trip was well worth the drive. The clam chowder, to quote a Yelper, "was rich, yet delicate." We split Oysters prepared three different ways, plucked fresh from the Tomales Bay Oyster Farm just a few moments down the road.
Raw with lemon & mignonettes
