I think that "slow and steady" will be the one that wins this race. I have lost 1.8lb since last Wednesday. WW recommends .5-2lb per week for healthy weight loss so I'm at the higher end of the range. Still I can't help but secretly hope for some sort of drastic drop, especially since I've been following the plan to the "point".
Some highlights from the recent week.....
* Birthday dinner at Barclay's with a girlfriend. Now typically I would get a bacon cheeseburger with mayonnaise on the side at Barclay's. And shoestring fries. Plus a couple beers. I still had the beers of course, it was a celebration after all. But I ordered a Garden Burger (and immediately cut it in half to take home) with a salad (vinaigrette on the side). I mean "WHAT?"
* I am pleased to say that I've graduated from frozen meals to turkey sandwiches. As Nicole put it, I'm a monotonous eater. Turkey sandwiches for lunch. Turkey sandwiches for dinner. I love them. TJ's has a new "Heathy 8" mix- chopped veggies. A nice change from the typical romaine with a little olive oil and balsamic to spice it up. I made Paul and I chicken/veggie burritos for lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
* So I didn't take those chocolate covered strawberries to work. I forgot them. So there they were waiting for me in the fridge. All day long I had fixated on having those strawbs and a glass of wine when I got home. Since I was going to be all alone on Valentine's Day I needed something to cheer me up- right? I pulled them out, poured my wine, took a nibble off one, and threw them away. I really just wanted a turkey sandwich. Weird right? And I did have a few sips of wine but poured the majority of my glass down the sink before bed. I have a feeling I'm going to go through a lot of wine this way (I really like to have a glass next to me as I write this blog so I can sip and ponder).
Veggie Burritos
* mixed veggies- I used zucchini, shredded carrots, onion, bell pepper, mushroom
(cooking spray & saute in pan)
* sprinkled veggies with Cumin & Chili Powder
* 2oz (or more) chopped chicken breast
Dump this stuff on a burrito, add fat free sour cream, pico de gallo, shredded cabbage and you're done!
