Sunday October 10th

We made our first full day in Maui a beach filled extravaganza. Of course Sunday was also the only day that we had any rain (day rain anyway) during the entire trip. A quick stop to CJ's to pick up some fresh pineapple and papaya and we headed a short ways north to Kapalua Beach. We rented our snorkel gear from Snorkel Bobs and jumped in the water, free to roam the reef.

After munching on our soggy fruit, we headed south to our next beach- Oneloa or Big Beach (at the very Southwestern tip of the island). We stopped on the way for a quick Hot Dog at a roadside stand. Not so quick after Paul realized that he couldn't find my wedding ring that he had placed in his wallet for safekeeping. One small manhunt later, it was discovered to have slipped out of the wallet and into his pocket. Sigh. We got to Big Beach and followed the ant trail of other beach goers up and over a small mountain to the real draw of Oneloa Beach.....Little Beach. A naked beach. Apparently taking pictures at a naked beach is not particularly tasteful, however I did manage to snap a quick one. Paul kept his suit on....this time.
Beached out, we went to the Days Inn in Kihei, our home for the next three nights to find it rather depressing. The on the ground floor, the room boasted one window and soft lighting. They did offer free beach towels, unlimited supply- so rest assured we went through quite a few. A much needed shower and we were out the door, headed directly to the beach located just outside to door and had supper at the four star Sorentos Italian Restaurant just a few steps from the hotel.
