Saturday April 26: Dubrovnik Croatia

When we landed in Dubrovnik it was dark, cloudy, and raining. Our Air B&B had arranged a driver to meet us- there was actually a whole train of people of got us settled in.
We were dropped off on the street at the top of a set of stairs which winded down through various tiny apartments and homes. Our guide walked us down and left us with Maria who met us at the apartment. Maria, who didn't speak English, got her son to come and give us the 411 on the place. With some dinner recommendations in hand we fortified ourselves with a shot of homemade liquor and made our way into the walled city for dinner.

Rounding the corner to the main square we were met with live music and a whole crowd of people. Unbeknownst to us we had arrived at the tail end of a wine festival weekend and 30,000 Catholic youth had been bused in from all over Croatia for some sort of gathering.

Hungry and tired we landed at a fabulous restaurant where both Chris and Nicole claimed the best steaks they've ever had. Despite the drizzle we were all so excited to be at our next, and new, destination that we all went to bed with full bellies ready to explore the next few days!
